It was New Years Eve and I was about eight years old. My dad was a teacher and we all ways had other teachers and their family's over for things like this. The kids would go play in the basement while the adults would stay upstairs and play card and watch the events on T.V. Most of the time the girls would play together and the boys would anoy them, and this was one of those times. My little brother, Jeff who is four years younger than I am, was the main threat to us girls. He was throwing things at us and pretending they were bomb. So of corse we had to retaleate. I started swinging from a pipe that was exposed in the basement celling. Jeff was right in front of me when I started swinging and I pushed him right into the coffee table. When he hit the table a glass fell on the floor and broke and Jeff screamed bloody murder. Mom came running down the stairs and I went running up the stairs into my room and locked the door. I thought for sure my dad was going to kill me. They took Jeff to the hospital because he had cut his eye open and they didn't know if there was glass in it or not. I was so afraid that he was going to be blind for the rest of his life and it would be all my fault. Well they brought Jeff home and he had one stich on the side of his eye. He didn't have any glass in it and is not blind. My dad didn't kill me either, but I was grounded. -Ash.
